In today’s demanding work environments, the well-being of employees has become a paramount concern for organisations Australia-wide. It is crucial for companies to prioritise systems that actively support the mental health and well-being of employees. That’s why Lighthouse Institute is thrilled to introduce our new 3-part corporate mental health training, aimed at empowering organisations with the tools and strategies to create thoughtful and sustainable workplaces.
Understanding the Need: Corporate Mental Health Training
Research indicates that approximately 67% of full-time employees experience symptoms related to stress and anxiety, affecting their overall mental well-being. This not only impacts individual employees but also has significant implications for organisational performance, including decreased productivity and increased absenteeism.
A report published by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) found that when organisations successfully introduce an effective action to create a mentally healthy workplace, they can expect a positive return on investment (ROI) of at least 2.3. In other words, for every one dollar spent there is a $2.30 gain.
The report also found that mental health conditions cost Australian workplaces more than $10.9 billion annually.
The Importance of Mental Health Training
Lighthouse Institute draws on over 30+ years of experience in supporting workers in trauma settings to provide comprehensive mental health training for organisations. Lighthouse acknowledges that staff can experience vicarious trauma and subsequent adverse mental health experiences, through working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Lighthouse is therefore, a strong advocate of system-wide support for all employees.
Our 3-part training is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to create thoughtful and sustainable workplaces.
