Learning & Consultancy
The Lighthouse Institute was developed to build, expand, and share Lighthouse’s evidence-based Model of Care and program outcomes.
The Institute is a trauma informed knowledge centre that provides training and consultancy services to build the capability of practitioners and organisations, to be trauma-informed in their practices and service delivery
Training is tailored to the specific needs of individuals and groups and has been developed using more than thirty years practice, service delivery, reflection, and continuous improvement.
Our consultancy services continue to grow steadily as knowledge of our trauma-informed Model of Care and its effectiveness spreads across sectors. The Lighthouse Institute was also engaged to provide support to the participants in the Royal Commission into Institutionalised Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in 2013 across Australia and has expanded its training and consultancy services into the corporate sector to support the mental health and wellbeing of staff.
Lighthouse’s Learning & Consultancy Program
The Lighthouse Institute professional learning and consultancy program is informed by more than 30 years of research and practice expertise supporting the survivors of trauma and the individuals, families, communities and organisations that support, and is underpinned by the Lighthouse Model of Care, an integrated trauma informed systems approach to promoting trauma recovery.
Organisational Consultancy and Development
Lighthouse’s organisational consultancy and development is a process aimed at improving the performance, effectiveness, and efficiency of your organisation. It involves the use of a range of strategies and techniques to help identify and solve problems, improve their operations and achieve your goals.
Tailored Professional Learning
Lighthouse offers customised professional learning designed to meet individual or organisational needs and goals. Our tailored approach takes into account each learner’s unique context, experience, and skills, ensuring personalised development. Methods may include workshops, seminars, coaching, mentoring, e-learning, or self-directed study.
Specialist Practice Consultation
Our team provides specialist secondary case consultations to organisations working with clients who present with complex issues. Individual practitioners, groups and organisations may get ‘stuck’ with how best to support a client or community. Secondary practice consultation provided by highly skilled Senior Clinician can provide advice on assessment, formulation, and evidence informed interventions.
Reflective Practice and Supervision (Individual & Group)
Reflective practice and supervision are processes that support professionals in critically examining and reflecting on their work to enhance their skills, knowledge, and understanding. These processes can be carried out individually or in a group setting.
Professional Coaching
Professional coaching is a process of supporting individuals in their personal and professional development to achieve their goals, enhance their performance, and improve their overall well-being. Professional coaching involves a partnership between a coach and a client, where the coach helps the client identify and clarify their goals, develop action plans, and navigate obstacles.
Community of Practice (CoP)
The CoP focuses on empowering practitioners, organisations, and sectors collaborating with trauma survivors through leadership support, improved mental health responses, evidence-based learning, knowledge sharing, and emotional support to prevent burnout and vicarious trauma among staff.
