A couple of significant changes have recently taken place at Lighthouse Foundation.

Dr Eammon McCarthy has recently departed Lighthouse after three years in the role of CEO.  Within this time, Eamonn successfully broadened the range of services that we now provide to young people in Victoria as part of the ambitious three-year growth strategy.

In order to consolidate and expand our services for the future, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Boland as Lighthouse’s new CEO.

Brenda brings with her extensive experience in the public sector, having dedicated over three decades to government service. Throughout her career, she has managed large operational areas in both rural and metropolitan settings, specialising in child protection, care services, and disability operations.

Brenda was CEO at the Commission for Children and Young People for four years, before returning to the current department of Family Fairness and Housing in 2019 to be Executive Director of Service Enhancement in the Community, Operations and Practice Leadership division. This role focused on improving service delivery across the children, youth and families sector, driving innovation and leading system and performance improvement.

Brenda is passionate about building connection and resilience in vulnerable children, fostering self-reliance among families, and promoting tolerance across communities.

Brenda will commence in her new role on Wednesday 29 May. We look forward to this exciting new chapter Brenda’s leadership and experience will bring to Lighthouse.
