Last week, Lighthouse young people and staff were given a rare opportunity to step inside the creative world of professional artists, during a private studio visit with Lighthouse ambassador Rone, close collaborator Callum Preston, and the team at Everfresh Studio.

For many of the young people, this was their first time visiting a working artist studio. It was a morning filled with curiosity, creativity and honest conversations about what it really means to build a life in the arts.

Learning from Artists Who Have Walked the Path

The visit began with an intimate Q&A session with Rone and Callum, where young people were invited to ask questions and hear candidly about their creative journeys.

They spoke about how they got their start, the realities of working as artists, and the process behind creating large-scale mural works. Both shared how skateboarding culture played a role in leading them toward street art, and how building strong friendships and networks within the creative community shaped their careers over time.

One message resonated clearly throughout the conversation: start creating, put yourself out there, and the rest will follow.

For young people who are still discovering their own creative voices, hearing these stories firsthand was both grounding and motivating.

Inside Everfresh Studio: A Global Creative Community

Following the Q&A, the group was welcomed into Everfresh Studio, a unique space where artists from around the world live and work side by side.

Matt generously led the tour, introducing the young people to the studios and sharing how Everfresh operates as a creative home for artists at different stages of their careers. At the time of the visit, one international artist from Spain was living and working in the space; a powerful reminder that art has the ability to connect people across cultures and borders.

The young people and our team moved through the studio wide-eyed, taking in the artwork, watching artists at work, and asking thoughtful questions about techniques, inspiration and creative life.

“This is so cool,” was heard more than once.

Small Moments, Lasting Impact

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the quiet ones. During the visit, one young person spent time speaking with an artist about how to set up an Instagram account to share their own artwork. They left the studio feeling inspired and motivated to keep creating; a simple conversation that opened the door to new confidence and possibility.

For young people who already enjoy making art, the visit reinforced something important: creative futures are possible. With passion, persistence and support, there are many paths forward.

Why This Matters for Lighthouse Young People

Experiences like this are invaluable for Lighthouse young people. They offer more than inspiration, they provide real-world exposure, representation, and the chance to imagine futures that may not have felt accessible before.

Rone’s continued generosity, alongside collaborators like Callum and the Everfresh community, reflects the power of partnerships grounded in genuine care for young people.

By opening their doors, sharing their stories, and taking the time to connect, these artists helped spark curiosity, confidence and creative possibility — moments that can stay with young people long after the day ends.

We are deeply grateful to Rone, Callum, Matt, and the artists at Everfresh Studio for welcoming our young people so warmly and making this experience so memorable.

It is through the generosity of our community that Lighthouse young people are able to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and see what might be possible for their own futures.
