Privacy Statement
Lighthouse is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. The purpose of this Privacy Statement is to tell you what kind of information we may gather about you when you visit our site; how we may use that information; whether we disclose it to anyone; and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct, this information.
Whenever we collect and otherwise deal with your personal information, we are governed by the National Privacy Principles ('NPPs') which are contained in the Privacy Act 1988. Therefore, whenever collecting and dealing with information such as your name, address, email address or phone number, we will be bound by the NPPs.
Whenever we collect personal information from you, whether online or in hard copy form, we will make every reasonable attempt to inform you of why we are collecting your information, to whom we will disclose that information and the purposes for which we intend to use that information.
In general, the purposes for which we collect your personal information include:
- to place you on our mailing list
- to place you on our fundraising database (see “Online Donations” below)
- to provide you with the product or service you require (eg event tickets, merchandise)
- to deal with any enquiries you have about Lighthouse Foundation
At all times, we will take care to ensure that your personal information is protected and treated confidentially and in accordance with the Privacy Act
Online Donations Lighthouse records donation-specific information in its fundraising database. Information recorded includes the donor’s name, address, email, telephone number, amount donated, and whether the funds are to be directed to a specific project. The donor will be given the option to opt out of receiving any future correspondence from Lighthouse. Otherwise, the donor may receive future information from Lighthouse for fundraising purposes.
At no time will we disclose, sell or otherwise pass on this privileged information to any third party. The personal details you provide will only be used for the purposes for which they were intended. Our fundraising database is protected by secure user IDs and passwords to protect it from mis-use, unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
If you believe that we have not dealt with your personal information in a manner that complies with the Privacy Act you should contact us to discuss how we may better deal with it. Similarly, if you wish to access personal information that we hold about you, you may make a request in writing.

Currency of Transaction Please note that all transactions on this site are in Australian dollars.
Security We take the issue of credit card security very seriously. Our site uses security encrypted response forms when personal and financial details are required – this means that from the moment you type in your credit card details, they are encrypted so that not even Lighthouse is able to see your credit card number!
The security we use between your browser and our website is SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). To confirm that your browser supports SSL security, you should see a yellow solid key on a blue background (Netscape), or a yellow padlock (Netscape or Internet Explorer).
Receipts All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. When you make an online donation, a receipt will be issued by email within a few minutes. This receipt is sufficient for taxation purposes, so we strongly recommend that you print off a copy for your records.
Delivery All deliveries of goods are via Australia Post. Under normal circumstances your order will be despatched within a few days and arrive within two weeks. Items not immediately available will be placed on backorder for you where possible, and you will be advised of the expected date for despatch of these backordered items. Should the item not be immediately available, you will be notified within two working days.
Lighthouse Guarantee (merchandise) If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we will refund the purchase price of your goods immediately. Please see the back of the advice sent with your goods for details, or just return the item (within 30 days of delivery) with a short explanatory note, and we will arrange a refund.
Refunds (donations) In the case of donations, no refunds will be issued.
