Cabrini Lighthouse, Richmond
Cabrini Lighthouse was established in 1997 when Cabrini Hospital provided the Foundation with a house in Middle Park. The move to the more spacious home in Richmond followed in 1999, to accommodate the growing number of young residents.
The house provides continuity of care and support for up to six young people, with past residents often dropping in for a chat or a meal.
An attractive Victorian weatherboard, the Richmond house retains all the features of the era. A tessellated tiled path lined with white rose bushes leads to the stained glass front door. Inside, the house has been carefully maintained to preserve the original feel. A large family room and kitchen area at the back opens onto the spacious veranda and garden.
Cabrini provide extensive support to the house, including maintenance and upkeep; provision of groceries; hosting and participating in Committee meetings; and other support for the residents.
